Support the goal of sustainable agriculture – Support Single Source Fincas

GRINGO PADDY’s Featured Finca - CAFÉ INTRIGA – Antioquia Colombia

After conducting a soil analysis to determine the best areas of the finca for growing our coffee, we began the grueling task of clearing and preparing the land. The slopes, with their varying degrees of incline, made the work even more challenging than words can describe. Once the land was ready, we faced the next decision: selecting the right variety of Arabica coffee for our specific location. After careful consideration, we chose Castillo, a variety that has rewarded us with exceptional coffee, which we are proud to share with our loyal customers.

Following our first harvest, or "cosecha" as we call it here in Colombia, we sent our coffee to a laboratory for a flavor profile and quality analysis. While we were confident in our commitment to the environment and the soil, we had no certainty about the quality of the fruit our trees would produce. To our delight, we were graded as a specialty coffee right from the start. This recognition, especially for a first harvest, is rare but not impossible. We received this feedback from seasoned coffee professionals, and it has been incredibly encouraging. The best part? With proper care, our coffee trees will only continue to improve in quality over the years.

It’s all about the details. The incredible men and women who have helped make this dream a reality are some of the most hardworking, honest, and kind people I’ve ever had the privilege to know. Thank you, Amigos, for your dedication to the finca and to this journey.
